Dr Paul C K Lee, a Past President of the Rotary Club of Pudu has been elected District
Governor for the Rotary International District 3300 for Rotary Year 1998/99.
Dr Lee who joined the Rotary Club of Pudu in 1976 and served as President in 1984/85,
has also served the Rotary District as Chairman of the District Membership Development
Committee, Club Extension Committee, Youth Activities Committee, as well as Deputy Chairman
in District Club Service Committee, Community Service Committee, Vocational Service
Committee and Public Relations Committee. He is currently Governor's Representative in the
Rotary Foundation of Malaysia and Chairman of The District Awards Selection Committee.
Dr Lee was also the Deputy Moderator in the Group Discussant Leaders' Training Seminar and
has been a District Information Counsellor for many years.
At the Club level he is the Chairman of the Past President's Council and an adviser to the
Board of Directors.
Dr Lee who obtained his dental degree from the University of Singapore was President of the
Malaysian Dental Association for 3 terms from 1985 to 1988 and President of the Malaysian
Private Dental Practitioners' Society in 1982/83. He also served in the Malaysian Dental
Council, Asian Pacific Dental Federation as Editor and has been a member of the Board of
Trustee of the Malaysian Dental Foundation since its inception. Dr Lee also served as a
member of the Petaling Jaya Municipal Council, adviser to Petaling Jaya Hawkers' Association,
Damansara Jaya Residents' Association as well as an Internal Auditor of Royal Lake Club for
the past 9 years.
Dr Lee made good preparations for his year with a very comprehensive programme announced at the District Assembly in April 98. He assumed the official duties of District Governor on 1st July 1998, with much enthusiuasm in spite of the economic downturn facing Malaysia and the Asian region.
