ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance at weekly meetings is one of the requirements for club membership. Rotary
emphasizes attendance because it recognizes that to remain an effective Rotarian, a member must
experience the good fellowship of the weekly meetings and be involved and committed to the club's progress, its activities and projects. Fostering an ideal attitude towards attendance, participation in activities and projects is a responsibility of each Rotarian. This is well expressed in a phrase "When Rotary Club meeting day comes around, I do not have to decide whether to attend or not, for that has already been decided by me ... It is one of the obligations I accepted when I joined Rotary". The Regular weekly meetings include talks of current interest to which the members of the club can invite friends.
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A ROTARIAN
- Being a Rotarian means making a strong commitment of TIME & ENERGY. Each Rotary Club meets weekly and members are expected to attend these weekly meetings to foster better fellowship and integration.

- A Rotarian is one who will make an important difference in the quality of life in his/her community and the world at large.
- A Rotarian is also a person who would do things far removed from his/her normal activities.
- A Rotarian gets access to the doorway to a unique network, linked by fellowship and spanning the globe.

DISTRICTS AND ZONES
The Rotary movement has grown so big over the years that its management needs to be decentralised. Hence we have Districts and Zones. Each District will have a District Governor and each Zone a Zone Coordinator. Normally a District will have around 50-60 clubs. Malaysia is divided into two districts namely District 3300 and District 3310 (which includes Singapore and Brunei clubs.) Several Districts will make a Zone. The Philippines, for example, have 10 districts and belongs to Zone 7B. But Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan -- with smaller number of clubs in each country -- are grouped together into Zone 6B.
ROTAFOM
Rotary Foundation of Malaysia (ROTAFOM in short) or The Yayasan Kelab-Kelab Rotary Malaysia is dedicated to support and enhance Rotary's Community Service and Vocational Service programmes in Malaysia. The Foundation was formerly known as District 330 Foundation, Rotary Foundation Malaysia. On 1 July 1991, when District 330 was split into the current Districts 3300 and 3310, the Foundation became fully Malaysian in character.

CLUB HANDBOOK
 |
RC Pudu prides itself with a very organised way of doing things. There is quite a bit of bureaucracy in Rotary, hence a handbook to guide Club officers — who assume new portfolios every year — and Club members in general, is an essential requirement for good governance. Besides that, awareness about the Club history need to be inculcated in members, in the hope that they take pride in the Club's progress and achievements, to become long-standing members.
Members are entitled to a copy each, FOC. Get one soonest before the stock runs out. The Club Service Director is holding the inventory. |

DISTRICT AWARDS
In the 70's it wasn't so competitive. Emphasis was more on fellowship; and a project a year was good enough for the clubs. However, in the 80's it became a bit competitive, with distrct governors and club presidents sucked into the race to better one another with all kinds of District Awards for this and that project/activity. In a way it's good and clubs get to function in a more organised manner. On the other hand, bureaucracy reared its ugly head. And membership retention became a problem. RC Pudu, however, managed very well with many Rotarians who joined in the 70's and 80's being still in the Club.
FUND RAISING
RC Pudu is pretty good at fund raising. As a service club, we do not get any government allocation or grants to fund our projects, some of which are on-going eg the Old Folks Home at Jenjarom (since 1989) and the Scholarship Awards (averaging RM 40,000 annually). Other projects are catalytic, meaning we act as a catalyst and expect the receipient organisations to follow through after that and sustain themselves eg industrial laundry machines donated to PERKOPT; >40 dialysis machines worth >RM 2.5 million donated to four centres in Klang, Rawang, Shah Alam, Raub and Cheras; donation of ambulance to St John's Ambulance, to name but a few. Funds raised are also donated to disaster victims locally and overseas.
CHARTER

The Club was chartered on 5th December, 1966. The Charter President was Douglas Fraser who had 23 other members with him in the Club. Currently Tan Sri Senator Soong Siew Hoong is the only surviving charter member of the Club. RC Pudu was formed when RC Kuala Lumpur released territory to facilitate the new RC Pudu to be formed. REGISTRATION

There are three types of youth exchanges: (1) Long Term (2) Short Terms and (3) Young Generations. This guide — read more about it here or click on the image — will provide students with a general overview of the Rotary Youth Exchange program and advice on how to prepare for an exchange. Highlights include what to expect while on an exchange and points to consider before, during, and after. ROTARY DISTRICT 3300 SONG

We certainly do, thanks to RC Bukit Bintang. Please go to YouTube and play the song. Congratulations to President Rick Loh for the beautiful, gutsy and effervescent song that now is officially our District "anthem." The launch of the song at the Apr 2011 Assembly in Penang marked another key milestone of achievement in the annals of RI D3300.
